New Delhi, March 20 -- The district magistrate (DM) of New Delhi has written to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Police, seeking action against illegal dumping of Municipal Solid Waste in south Delhi's Rangpuri Pahari, stating that this is attracting birds and may pose a risk to flights at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
In the letter dated March 10, shared on Wednesday, the DM has also sought a clearance drive for removal of existing waste and to take action against private landowners "who have unauthorisedly rented their land for such illegal dumping as well unauthorized vendors involved in the said process".
