New Delhi, July 12 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday distributed Rs.5 lakh cheques to 24 artisans affected by the April 30 Dilli Haat fire in south Delhi's INA.
A total of Rs.1.2 crore was handed over to artisans engaged in traditional crafts like jewellery, woodwork, textiles, and carpets, tourism minister's office said.
CM Gupta also announced a waiver of six months' rent for the stall-owners at the market from July to December 2025. "There will be no more delay in justice. Everyone will receive what they rightfully deserve," said the CM.
"Our arts and crafts are the soul of our heritage. Supporting artisans is our collective duty," tourism minister Kapil Mishra said. htc
