New Delhi, April 9 -- Delhi law minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday told a city court that he did not target any particular religious community or individual in the run up to the 2020 state assembly elections.

Senior advocate Pawan Narang - the BJP leader's counsel - made the submissions before the Rouse Avenue court, hearing a case lodged against Mishra in January 2020, accusing him of violating the model code of conduct and the Representation of the People Act through alleged inflammatory social media posts in January 2020.

The development follows a Delhi court's March 7 dismissal of Mishra's revision petition, which had challenged the cognisance of the charge sheet against him. htc
