India, Oct. 19 -- Sam Rivers, the longtime bassist for nu-metal band Limp Bizkit, passed away on Saturday at the age of 48. The band announced the news through an emotional post on Instagram.

"Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat," the band wrote in the caption. "Sam Rivers wasn't just our bass player - he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound," the band continued.
