India, Jan. 8 -- The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) will now provide concessional electricity tariff to registered gaushalas across southern Haryana at a rate of Rs.2 per unit, said officials on Wednesday. The new policy has been notified through a circular issued by the chief minister.

According to the circular, starting from January, gaushalas registered with the Haryana Gau Seva Aayog are eligible for the subsidised tariff, and the remaining cost of electricity will be borne by the state government as subsidy. The subsidy will be admissible strictly on metered, actual consumption, officials said.

To be sure, earlier the price was around Rs.7 per unit.
