dghs quits just four months into tenure
New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Delhi's Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Rati Makkar has opted for voluntary retirement (VRS), just four months after being appointed to the post, and is set to retire on Friday, said sources familiar with the matter. No new appointment to the post has been made, they said.
Makkar had sent her VRS file to the health department of the Delhi government on July 15. Her application was formally accepted by the Delhi government on August 1 and she will retire from service on August 9.
Rati Makkar was given the charge in April. Further, in June, after the Delhi Government dissolved the Delhi Medical Council (DMC), Makkar was also given the additional charge of DMC Registrar.
