New Delhi, April 29 -- The Delhi high court on Monday directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to begin demolishing around 100 unauthorised structures obstructing renovation of Taimoor Nagar drain from May 5. The drain, which flows through Maharani Bagh before entering Taimoor Nagar on its way to the Yamuna, is crucial to prevent flooding in surrounding areas during the monsoons, which often leads to traffic jams, property damage, and loss of life.
