India, Dec. 18 -- India's first cooperative taxi service, Bharat Taxi, is reportedly expected to be launched in Delhi on January 1. The service is likely to provide relief to residents from the skyrocketing fares charged during peak hours by app-based cab aggregators such as Uber, Ola and Rapido.

Bharat Taxi will operate on a zero-commission model and will be managed by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, according to a report by NDTV. The mobile application will be available on both Android and iOS platforms.
