Delhi Scraps Police Clearance Requirement for Liquor Licences
new delhi, July 18 -- The Delhi government has abolished the mandatory police-issued Eating House Registration and Lodging Certificates for hotels, restaurants and clubs seeking liquor licenses, according to an excise department order issued on July 11. The move, officials said, aims to streamline business operations and improve ease of doing business in the city.
The certificate was necessary to obtain a licence from the excise department for serving liquor at hotels, clubs, restaurants, guesthouses, and similar establishments.
The now-scrapped certificates were previously required for obtaining various excise licenses including L-11 (microbreweries), L-15 (hotels with room service liquor), L-16 (hotel bars), L-17 (standalone restaurants) ...
