NEW DELHI, April 4 -- Police have uncovered the brutal murder of a 28-year-old Delhi resident whose charred and bullet-ridden body was found in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli days after he was allegedly abducted from west Delhi, officers said on Thursday.

Sagar Chauhan, a resident of Paschim Vihar's Sunder Vihar, went missing on March 26. The UP Police found his body in Shamli's Kandla on March 27 but cremated it three days later after it remained unidentified. Meanwhile, in Delhi, his family lodged a missing persons report on March 27, followed by an abduction case on March 30.
