India, July 5 -- A 25-year-old man died on Friday after being found trapped in a lift during a fire that broke out at the Karol Bagh area in the Central District of Delhi.

According to the report by news agency ANI, police found the deceased, identified as Kumar Dhirender Pratap Singh, trapped in the lift in Vishal Mega Mart in Karol Bagh during a joint rescue operation with the fire and disaster response teams. He was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

The fire broke out at Vishal Mega Mart on Friday. According to the Delhi Fire Service, 13 fire tenders reached the spot to douse the blaze.
