New Delhi, Oct. 4 -- The Delhi High Court has upheld the dismissal of a former BSF officer convicted of graft, noting that corrupt officials demoralise honest personnel and must be dealt with firmly. "The corruption committed by the petitioner in his official functions is contrary to efficient administration and governance. Such corrupt practices need to be dealt with an iron hand," justices C Hari Shankar and Om Prakash Shukla said. The officer was found guilty of accepting bribes from contractors. The GSFC convicted him under Sections 7 and 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act in November 2023, sentencing him to three years in jail, a Rs.10,000 fine, and dismissal. HTC
