India, July 29 -- The Delhi High Court has upheld activist Medha Patkar's conviction in the defamation case against her. The order was given by the court on Tuesday in a case lodged against the environmental activist by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in 2001.

The matter was heard by Justice Shalinder Kaur, who also rejected Patkar's plea against dismissal of her application to introduce and examine an additional witness to prove her defamation case lodged against the Delhi LG.

As per a report by LiveLaw, the Delhi HC stated that Patkar failed to demonstrate any problems and errors followed in the procedure against her.
