Delhi HC seeks BFI, IOA replies on plea challenging Aug 21 polls
New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- The Delhi high court on Thursday issued notice in the pleas challenging Boxing Federation of India (BFI's) interim committee's decision to conduct the polls on August 21.
A bench of justice Mini Pushkarna sought BFI interim committee and Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) response in the pleas filed by four state boxing associations including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and fixed August 18 as the next date of hearing. The court also asked the union sports ministry represented by standing counsel Premtosh Kumar Mishra to file its response.
