New Delhi, May 9 -- The Delhi government on Thursday cancelled all leaves for its officials until further notice amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
"In view of the prevailing situation and preparedness for emergency response, the competent authority has directed that no leave shall be granted to any officer or official of the Government of NCT of Delhi until further orders," said an order issued by the services department late Thursday.
The directive follows mock defence drills and a 15-minute blackout in Lutyens' Delhi conducted on Wednesday to assess the city's emergency readiness.
Leaves of doctors at all government hospitals in Delhi have also been cancelled.htc
