New Delhi, April 30 -- The Delhi government has appointed Dr Rati Makkar as the new director general of health services (DGHS) - the senior-most health official of a state - nearly four months after the suspension of former DGHS Dr Vandana Bagga.
Makkar's last posting was at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital as a senior medical officer, as per the appointment order issued by the department of health and family welfare.
Makkar's predecessor Bagga was suspended on January 7 this year following an order by LG V K Saxena. Bagga wrote to President Droupadi Murmu, calling it "arbitrary" and claiming that the action was taken with political motives.htc
