delhi gang held for Rs.5.12Cr land Compensation Fraud in ggm
Gurugram, Aug. 24 -- Delhi-based gang has been arrested for impersonating a Gurugram landowner and fraudulently claiming Rs.5.12 crore in compensation meant for him, police said on Saturday. The money had been awarded by the government for land acquired to build the Southern Peripheral Road.
The fraud, committed in May 2023, came to light only in December 2024 when a patwari flagged another attempt by the gang to embezzle Rs.6.38 lakh, officials said.
Those arrested were identified as Tushar alias Kaku (21), Krishna Kumar (50), Dinesh Kashyap alias Rathor (38), Pankaj Kumar Kela alias Dharm (47), and Sushil Kumar Darda (48). Police said the arrests were made over the past two months.
