New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- The government on Wednesday said it has extended the tenure of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan by eight months, signalling its confidence in him to implement key military reforms underway in the defence ministry, including theaterisation. Chauhan was the military adviser to the National Security Council Secretariat when he was named CDS in 2022. As CDS, he is the permanent chairman of the chiefs of staff panel and the single-point military adviser to the defence minister. P10
