New Delhi, July 26 -- The Supreme Court on Friday directed the appeals in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases pending before the Allahabad high court to be expeditiously decided "out of turn", emphasising that any further delay will result in evidence of vital witnesses being lost. The court order came on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee which had highlighted the slow progress of anti-Sikh riots cases in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and sought the intervention of the court to expedite the appeals pending before the high court seeking re-investigation.
