India, July 14 -- The names of over 6.60 crore electors in Bihar will be included in the draft electoral roll, even as around 35 lakh names are set to be excluded from the list, the Election Commission (EC) has said.
The poll body said that 83.6% of the 7.89 crore voters in the state will be included in the draft electoral roll as part of the ongoing special intensive revision of the voter's list ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.
The EC's move regarding the revision of the electoral list has seen direct criticism from the opposition. The assembly elections are scheduled to be held later this year.
