New Delhi, Dec. 10 -- In a first, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will adopt the Swiss Challenge method for disposal of land and public assets, a move approved by the lieutenant governor VK Saxena to address delays caused by single-bid tenders. The Swiss Challenge mechanism allows a single bid to be placed in the public domain as the new reserve price, with fresh bids invited thereafter. The original bidder will also be allowed to participate in the re-auction. Officials said the system will ensure competitive price discovery and prevent cancellation of tenders due to low bidder participation.
