Day after Bengal Babri event, BJP leaders and Guv attend Gita recital
Kolkata, Dec. 8 -- A day after the politically charged foundation stone laying ceremony of a mosque modelled on Babri Masjid in West Bengal, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and governor CV Ananda Bose on Sunday attended a Bhagavad Gita recital in Kolkata. Later, suspended Trinamool Congress leader Humayun Kabir, who led Saturday's event, said he will soon organise a Quran recital.
Sunday's recital, organised by the Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad in Kolkata's Brigade Parade ground, was widely promoted by the Bengal BJP unit after Kabir, the Bharatpur legislator, laid the foundation stone for a mosque modelled on Babri Masjid at Rejinagar in Murshidabad district.
