India, Oct. 25 -- Cyclone Montha is a tropical cyclone developing over the Bay of Bengal, expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm as it approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast.
It is expected to make landfall near Kakinada on the Andhra Pradesh coast on the evening or night of October 28.
The depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclone on Monday morning and may cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, near Kakinada, during the evening or night of October 28 as a severe cyclonic storm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned.
The severe cyclone is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rain over Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal.
