India, March 11 -- A Delhi court on Monday denied custody parole to Engineer Rashid, Independent Member of Parliament (MP) from Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, who sought permission to attend the ongoing Budget session of Parliament. Special Judge (NIA) Chanderjit Singh of the Patiala House court passed the order, though the detailed ruling is yet to be made available. The court, however, reserved its order on Rashid's regular bail plea for March 19. Rashid's request for regular bail has been pending since August 28, 2023. Engineer Rashid was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in 2019.htc
