CPEC to extend to Afghanistan, says Pakistan DyPM
New Delhi, May 22 -- Afghanistan, China and Pakistan have agreed to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghan soil, Pakistan's deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Wednesday after a meeting of the three countries in Beijing.
India has long opposed CPEC, a flagship venture under China's Belt and Road Initiative, as a key part of it passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India's concerns in this regard have been conveyed to the Taliban regime in Kabul, which has been courted by China and Pakistan for the extension of CPEC.
