Bengaluru, Aug. 31 -- The Union government on Saturday said that courts cannot stop the implementation of a new law banning online money-based games, saying that once legislation secures presidential assent, its notification becomes a "constitutional function" beyond judicial restraint. Defending the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, solicitor general Tushar Mehta told the Karnataka high court: "Courts may not interfere at this stage. Merely because an individual feels aggrieved, it does not mean the government is required to give advance notice before notifying the law." P2
