Court staffer pulls back ACB case plea
new delhi, June 12 -- A 38-year-old court staffer booked by the Delhi government's Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for allegedly taking bribes in exchange for facilitating bail withdrew his petitions seeking anticipatory bail and quashing of the FIR before the Delhi High Court on Wednesday.
Mukesh Kumar, the accused court staffer, withdrew the petitions through his counsel Ayush Jain before a bench of Justice Tejas Karia. Jain told the court that Kumar was willing to cooperate with the investigation, provided that ACB abides by Section 41A of the CrPC, which requires issuance of a notice before arresting an accused without a warrant. He also noted that a co-accused in the case had recently been granted bail by the trial court.
