Ludhiana, Jan. 13 -- A Ludhiana court has pulled up city police for violating Supreme Court guidelines during the arrest of social media influencer Vishal Kapoor, directing the Commissioner of Police to take action against the officers involved and initiate proceedings for contempt of court.

The order was passed on January 7 by Judicial Magistrate Kavita Garg, when Kapoor was produced before the court. He had been arrested by Division No 7 police under Sections 308(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, on charges of extortion and blackmail.
