New Delhi, Feb. 18 -- A city court on Monday instructed the DCP (northeast) to fix accountability and issue directives to subordinates after a police officer did not appear in proceedings of a northeast Delhi riots case.

The order was issued after the officer told the judge that he had not received any summons seeking his presence. "In the past, in respect of cases of riot, an office order was issued from Delhi Police headquarters. Commissioner of Police, thereby requiring all the IOs to remain present before the court, at least at the stage of arguments and consideration on the point if charge," the court stated.htc
