Chandigarh, March 14 -- After missing two deadlines in December and February, the Chandigarh Health Education Centre (CHEC) is now likely to be ready by the end of March, before the new academic session gets underway.

A first-of-its-kind initiative at a government school in the country, the centre is being set up at Government Model High School, Sector 22, in partnership with the Chandigarh Rotary Club, to impart health education to students of city's government schools.

The focus of the centre will be on general health, oral health, nutrition/physical activity, drug/alcohol/tobacco prevention, pregnancy/STI prevention, and social and emotional health.
