Silchar, Nov. 13 -- A man was arrested in Cachar district of Assam after being on the run for nearly a year for allegedly raping his minor daughter multiple times and impregnating her, police said on Tuesday.
The accused, in his forties, allegedly raped his daughter in the Udharbond area of Cachar in 2022. The girl, who was 16 at the time of the incident, later gave birth to a girl, officers said. "After receiving the complaint in January this year, we registered a case and began an investigation. The accused had been absconding for the last 11 months before we managed to apprehend him on Monday night," a senior officer said.htc
