cops: 12-year-old assaults boy his age, apprehended

New Delhi, Feb. 7 -- A 12-year-old boy was sexually assaulted, allegedly by a boy his age who lives in the same neighbourhood in Bhalaswa Dairy, police said.

The incident took place on Tuesday. Police apprehended the juvenile in conflict with law on Wednesday.

Based on a complaint by the victim's parents, a case on charges of rape under BNS and the Pocso Act was registered. The minor was detained from his neighbourhood on Wednesday and sent to an observation home, police said. "The victim was counselled by officials," the officer said. htc
