India, June 9 -- The Congress on Monday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government on the occasion of its 11 years in office, accusing it of inflicting a "deep blow" to Indian democracy, economy, and the country's social fabric.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological parent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) weakened constitutional institutions and undermined federalism.
