New Delhi, May 30 -- The Congress on Thursday claimed the BJP-led NDA government is planning to call a special Parliament session to mark the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, even as the Centre ignored the Opposition's demand for a special session on the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent military response Operation Sindoor. Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh, in a post on X, said that the move is yet another "classic exercise in diversion and distraction from real and more urgent issues" by PM Narendra Modi. The Indira Gandhi-led government declared a state of Emergency on June 25, 1975.
