Cong MPs abused LS Speaker: Rijiju; Priyanka denies charge
New Delhi, Feb. 13 -- Citing an "illegal video" that was recorded inside the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's chamber, parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday reiterated his claims that Congress MPs abused Birla and said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes in debate and discussion and does not support any form of physical or verbal intimidation.
The video, allegedly recorded by a Congress MP and shared on X by Rijiju, purportedly shows a large group of Congress MPs gathered in the Speaker's chamber and protesting. Officials aware of the details later said that the lawmakers were protesting against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's speech on books that tarnished the image of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
