New Delhi, March 27 -- The Congress on Wednesday moved privilege motions against Union home minister Amit Shah and Union minister Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, accusing them of making "unfounded allegations" against party leader Sonia Gandhi and allegedly presenting misleading statements during the Question Hour.
Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh charged Shah with having a "premeditated motive to malign" Sonia Gandhi's reputation while responding to the debate on the Disaster Management Bill, 2024. The dispute centres on Shah's remarks comparing the National Prime Minister's Relief Fund (NPMRF), established during the Congress rule, with the PM-CARES Fund under the Narendra Modi government.
