New Delhi, March 1 -- The Congress's central leadership met with leaders from party's Kerala unit to discuss political strategy ahead of the state assembly polls in 2026, people aware of the matter said.

"We held a meeting of Kerala Congress leaders where we deliberated on our political strategy and the future of the state," party chief Mallikarjun Kharge posted on X.

Also present at the meeting, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said: "I know that the people are really emotional, they want a change, so we should be very careful about our political strategy and roadmap. We should not do or say anything that goes against the party line, as doing so means we are disrespecting the people of Kerala."
