New Delhi, July 16 -- Delhi Police has, over the past few months, turned several gated colonies, hotels and buildings into detention centres to make room for allegedly undocumented Bangladeshi migrants being held as part of a widespread drive. Behind the mushrooming centres is a December order from lieutenant governor VK Saxena, empowering the police, under directions from the Foreigner Regional Registration Office, to identify and detain undocumented Bangladeshi immigrants.
