New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of 12 lawyers and 14 judicial officers for appointment as judges of the Allahabad high court, where almost half the sanctioned strength of 160 judges is lying vacant. The collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Bhushan R Gavai and the two senior most judges - justices Surya Kant and Vikram Nath proposed the names after it held an extensive round of interviews with nearly 35 candidates in the fray on Monday. The collegium resolution dated September 1 has proposed 26 candidates based on its interaction, which includes two women senior lawyers - Garima Prashad and Swarupama Chaturvedi.
