New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced the upcoming launch of the 'Swachhata Challenge' as part of the citywide "Delhi's Freedom from Garbage" campaign. The initiative aims to mobilise public participation by creating a network of "cleanliness champions" across the city. To mark the 78th year of India's independence, 78 citizens will be nominated initially, with each expected to nominate five others to join the mission. Gupta said the initiative seeks to engage residents in a chain of responsibility to improve sanitation across neighbourhoods.
