Silchar, Jan. 25 -- Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the state government was deliberately issuing notices related to the Special Revision (SR) of electoral rolls and citizenship verification to members of the Miya (non-indigenous) Muslim community, asserting that the move was meant to keep "pressure" on them. Speaking at a public event, Sarma said that no such notices were being served to Hindus or Assamese Muslims. "Only Miya Muslims are getting SR notices, and it is intentional," he said. "If we do not do this, they will try to sit on our heads. I am openly saying that we will keep disturbing them as long as we are in power.
