India, March 28 -- Punjab Congress MLA Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Thursday asked the Punjab government to release dues to sugarcane growers.

Raising the matter during zero hour, the Fatehgarh Churian legislator said the state government has announced Rs.401 per quintal as state advise price (SAP) for sugarcane out of which a share of Rs.55 was to be contributed by the state government. But the state has not released its share.

" Rs.47 crore is pending for a single sugar mill in Batala which is being run in a cooperative mode," he said.

The Congress MLA also demanded repair of Bhalowali road, lifeline for people of 50-60 villages in his constituency.
