India, Sept. 11 -- US right-wing activist and Donald Trump's ally, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in on Wednesday at an event at Utah Valley University.

The 31-year-old was transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery, but later succumbed to his injuries.

"The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us," Trump wrote on social media.

Videos shared on social media showed that Kirk was being asked questions about mass shootings in America when he was shot in the neck.
