Chaitanya used Rs.16.7cr of liquor fund in biz: ed
New Delhi, July 22 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Monday that Chaitanya Baghel, son of senior Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, handled more than Rs.1,000 crore worth of proceeds of crime in the sale of liquor at state-run outlets during the latter's tenure as chief minister between 2019 and 2022. He was arrested on July 18 from his residence in Bhilai under the prevention of money laundering act (PMLA) and is currently being interrogated by the ED at its Raipur office.
