Chandigarh, March 28 -- While the teachers were all smiles during the general body meeting of the Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) called on Thursday following the announcement of the release of pending arrears, other issues, including the pending Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotions and PhD increments, were in focus.

PUTA president AS Naura informed that nearly 360 promotions under CAS have taken place in the past two years. While auditors hired by the varsity to vet these promotions had earlier posed problems, PUTA said it has been getting these cases cleared on priority.
