India, Feb. 1 -- Carlos Alcaraz, 22, won his maiden Australian Open on Sunday after he defeated Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final at the Rod Laver Arena. The Spaniard dropped the first set, but he staged a remarkable comeback, taking the next three sets to win the summit clash 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5. With this loss, Djokovic will now have to wait more to achieve the record-extending 25th Grand Slam. Alcaraz was the overwhelming favourite to win the final, and he proved it, despite Djokovic having 10 Australian Open titles in his kitty. With this victory, Alcaraz clinched his 7th Grand Slam title, after previously winning two French Open titles, two Wimbledon titles, and two US Open titles.
