New Delhi, Jan. 31 -- Three days after a four-storey under-construction building collapsed in north Delhi's Burari, killing five and injuring 16, the Delhi Police said the owner of the building had no approval from any civic agency to construct the apartments. The accused, Yogender Bhati, is in police custody and is charged with culpable homicide, attempted culpable homicide and crime committed with common intention.
Police said the contractor of the building, identified as Santosh Kumar, is still absconding.
The under-construction four-storey building collapsed around 6.30pm on Monday, burying with it masons, labourers, and families of two guards employed there. NDRF, fire services and police undertook rescue.
