India, Feb. 19 -- A Pune court on Tuesday granted Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi permanent exemption in a defamation case over his alleged remarks on Hindutva idol VD Savarkar. Gandhi's counsel had earlier moved an application before the court saying there can be threat to Gandhi's life especially when Pune was "a hometown of Nathuram Godse" and the leader's father and grandfather were assassinated by "bad elements".HTC
