India, Dec. 17 -- Telangana Police on Tuesday said Sajid Akram, the 50-year-old man killed in an exchange of fire with Australian police after a terror attack on a Jewish gathering at Sydney's Bondi Beach, did not travel to India even after his father's death, underscoring his limited ties with his family in Hyderabad over nearly three decades.
In a detailed statement issued, Telangana Police said Sajid Akram was originally from Hyderabad, where he completed his B.Com degree, before migrating to Australia in November 1998. He continues to hold an Indian passport, the police said.
