KANPUR, Nov. 12 -- Bodies of three sisters have been recovered from a well in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, hours after they went missing from their residence, police said on Tuesday, adding that it appeared to be a case of drowning.
Police said the three victims - Ruchi (10), Diskha (8), and Pushpa (6) - left home with their elder sister Rekha to graze cattle on Monday, but only Rekha returned, assuming that the others had come back. Later, locals found their bodies in the well. "Initial findings suggest death by drowning, but we are waiting for autopsy report," said SP Prabal Pratap Singh, adding that there were no immediate signs of foul play. htc
